Hook Size - Clover J (6.0 mm)

Yarn - Caron Simply Soft Party (4 medium) Acrylic with metallic thread

Colors - up to 7

Finished Size - 5 1/4" wide x 8" tall (including hair)

INSTRUCTIONS:

For Front:

Round 1: (1st color) Make a ring, either a magic ring or a chain 6 ring. ch 3, 13 dc into ring sp, sl st, fasten. (14) Now tighten ring.

Round 2: (2nd color) Join new color, work under the bar, 2 dc tog around, sl st, fasten. (14)

Round 3: (3rd color) Join new color, work under bar, 3 dc tog around sl st, fasten. (14)

Round 4: (body color) Join new color, ch 2, 2 dc tog, dc, dc, 2 dc tog, dc, dc, 2 dc tog, hdc, sc around, sl st.

Round 5: (same color) ch 1, 2 dc tog, dc, hdc, 3 sc, hdc, dc, 2 dc tog, hdc, ch 1, sc around, sl st, fasten.

For Back: Repeat rounds 1-5 in body color without fastening off in between rounds.

For Eyes: Make a ring, 10 hdc in sp, sl st, tighten ring. Repeat for other eye. Add buttons while sewing onto front.

For Beak: Embroider in a contrasting color.

For Hair: 5 strands of yarn. Loop through and trim above eyes.

For Wings: Make a leaf or a heart. Repeat for other wing.

Slip stitch sides together using body yarn, leave gap, stuff, close. Add wings. Chain 25 to make a loop for hanging, attach to top.
